We are dedicated to enhancing the effectiveness of philanthropy working to promote international peace and security. We maintain an informed, engaged and collegial community of funders, whose numbers and investments in the field are steadily increasing, working effectively on a broad range of issues from eliminating and limiting the spread of biological and nuclear weapons, to preventing and resolving violent conflict, to enhancing the capability of cooperative international efforts and institutions to provide international human security.

The Peace and Security Funders Group was founded in 1999 by several large foundations in response to a need for greater communication and collaboration among funders working in the peace and security field, as well as a mechanism to encourage increased philanthropic activity in this area.
